About the event
Trace James A. Garfield’s path through parts of northeast Ohio on this once-every-five-year Heritage Hike and celebrate our 20th US President’s 195th birthday.
This Hike begins in Moreland Hills at his birth site, and walks through local towns. Stops along the way include Garfield Memorial Church, Shaker Lakes, where you can lunch, and concludes at the Garfield Memorial in Lake View Cemetery.
There are two options for this Hike:
1) Full hike: 12.5 miles, and
2) Short hike from Shaker Lakes: 2.5 miles (Nature Center at Shaker Lakes, 2600 South Park Blvd, Shaker Heights).
Check-in will begin at 8:15 a.m. The event will take place regardless of the weather. Please dress suitably. Provide your own lunch and return transportation.
